Peter, the Israeli arabs will never agree to a "transfer", even if that means remaining where they are and becoming a part of the "future" Palestinian entity. Haaretz, two days ago, published a poll that showed 88% of Israeli-Arabs would rather live in Israel Proper than anywhere...

"saber-rattling" is a term that comes immediately to mind, however, a military exercise of this magnitude by Israel should never be taken lightly. No, it wasn't intended to be a provocation, but an exhibition, nonetheless, of Isarel's readiness.

If there is no progress on shalit within a week or two at mots, israel should create a provocation and attack them.hamas has no intention of doing anything but getting stronger for the next round. Of course, hamas is aware of this and is intent upon regaining its terrorist potencies, i.e., arsenal....
